The Birdemic blitz continues on the Severin Blog with this arresting moment from my favorite romantic thriller. My only regret thus far with the Birdemic release campaign is that we never had public appearances, press interviews or a phone conversation with Milan Lee, the man who played Jerry Owens, Birdemic’s poster boy of eco-friendly living, the door-to-door solar panel salesman. Remember?? Jerry Owens! The guy that sold Rod $20,000 of solar panels for his roof, and was such a solid bro he knocked off a thousand bucks, for just him! There was definitely meme potential here with Owens, and the closest we got was this killer Facebook fan-page that appeared many months ago, which sadly, hasn’t been updated recently. But, we were blessed with some great status updates. Anyway, as you know, Birdemic – Shock And Terror is released this Tuesday to stores everywhere, and I feel compelled to share this important scene with you today. Director James Nguyen aka The Master Of The Romantic Thriller™ stylizes the mundane here with a hyper-real sequence with Owen’s delivering our hero the “Hairy Jerry” soft pitch, followed by the one-legged slam-dunk zing, “the handshake” and wham, bam, thank you ‘mam, goodnight Susan! Is @JerryOwens available? Shitty. It isn’t.
