Bill Geist and the CBS Sunday Morning crew followed Birdemic director James Nguyen to three west-coast cities to shoot sold-out screenings, actual locations featured in the film, and Nguyen working in his San Jose, CA home editing suite. Nguyen shares his feelings with Geist about the unintentional success of his film, the mutantification of his eagles and vultures via global warming, the trials of making a feature film on a micro-budget and much more. Bobby Hacker and Severin Films’ own Evan Husney lend their telling of the Birdemic discovery story at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Nguyen also plugs his follow-up sequel Birdemic: The Resurrection. The segment can be viewed in the video embed below.
