Severin has acquired the non-verbal feature Dogora directed by Oscar nominee Patrice Leconte (The Hairdresser’s Husband, Ridicule, The Perfume Of Yvonne, The Girl On The Bridge). Hailed by DVD Times as “Stunning…bursting with color, light and movement in the tradition of Koyaanisqatsi and Baraka.” For the film, Leconte travelled to Cambodia to create a sound and image symphony of a land and its people. From the city streets to rural villages, from factories to farmlands and beyond, discovering the men, women and children of this ever-surprising Southeast Asian nation at work, play and peace, all moving at the speed of life.

A breathtaking new high definition transfer of this extraordinary sensory journey has been created from the original negative and the symphonic score will be presented in 5.1 surround. In addition the third part of the ongoing Leconte on Leconte interview series was recently recorded in Paris for inclusion on the disc. As Roger Ebert put it, “I would like to urge you gently toward those shelves in your friendly DVD store that hold the titles of Patrice Leconte. If your store does not carry his titles, then its not your friend.” The Blu Ray and DVD of Dogora streets on 4/27.
