The news broke in The Hollywood Reporter yesterday that Severin Films, and MPI Media Group, one of the largest independent film producers and distributors, announced an agreement whereby MPI will distribute Severin’s titles on DVD and digitally in the United States.
The first film in the deal is today’s release of the beloved 1972 undead biker favorite Psychomania and British chiller Crucible Of Terror, followed by the 2011 release of the highly anticipated US debut of Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Santa Sangre, and the Midnight Movie sensation Birdemic: Shock And Terror.
MPI’s Senior VP Greg Newman said “Severin Films has demonstrated remarkable taste and tenacity in finding unreleased gems. We are excited to help bring the next wave of Severin titles to market.”
Severin’s COO Carl Daft added, “MPI has proven over many years to be a skilled and innovative producer and distributor. We couldn’t be happier to entrust Severin’s films to MPI.”
